Job Title
Student Recruitment Officer (Full-time, Permanent)
Location
Beijing, Chengdu, Chongqing or Xi’an
Duties of the post
1. To undertake and achieve annual head count and income recruitment targets;
2. To proactively nurture and guide prospective students from enquiry through to admission,
with particular attention to conversion;
3. To represent the University of Essex at national and regional careers and higher education events,
including to deliver talks to a range of audiences, on issues relating to course selection and student life;
4. To develop and enhance effective relationships with agents,
sponsors and other key channel partners;
5. To support the development of effective relationships with schools and universities across in China;
6. To support the UK and China based marketing teams,
particularly with social media engagement;
7. Ensure effective use of relevant University systems, including CRM
8. To form an integral part of the team involved in the planning and organisation of the University’s off-line events
throughout the recruitment and admissions cycle;
9. To support and host Essex academic staff visiting China for recruitment and institutional profile-raising activities;
10. To gather, analyse and disseminate data reports and marketing information relating to key markets;
11. To support alumni activities in China;
12. Any other duties as required.
Essential skills/experience
▪️ Minimum of 3 years’ experience in marketing or sales, preferably related to education；
▪️ Fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese；
▪️ A Bachelor’s degree, especially graduates from the University of Essex；
▪️ Familiarity with the Higher Education sector in the UK or other key destinations；
▪️ Good interpersonal and influencing skills；
▪️ Excellent communication and presentation skills；
▪️ Willingness to travel within the region and occasionally to the UK；
▪️ Computer literacy, including familiarity with word processing, databases, spreadsheets.
▪️ A proactive approach and the ability to work without supervision；
▪️ Results orientated and customer focused；
▪️ Ability to gather, understand and present statistical data and market;
▪️ A good team player.
Desirable skills/experience
▪️A qualification in Business or Marketing;
▪️ Experience or expertise in the area of sales and marketing.
